Sport

Curtis has used the power of sport to aid his recovery and rehabilitation. Sport has taken him around the world and allowed him to represent Australia at the highest level.

"You'll see me in the Paralympics..."

The beginning

As a fit and active 24 year old I was keen to get back to

the things I was familiar with and enjoyed. It was tough at the beginning, learning to do almost everything again, with the use of my new prosthetic legs, but with the help of so many

I was able to get back and look towards my future and my goals with optimism and motivation.

The power of sport

The Invictus Games is a Paralympic style event for wounded, injured and ill servicemen and women. It is an event that uses the power of sport to get soldiers back moving and finding a purpose and that is exactly what I did. I used this to see what was possible, to see my potential and to see what sport would get me to the Paralympic games.

Paralympic Games

From the comments on stretcher in 2012 to lining up against the best in the world at the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo.  Now a three time Paralympic gold medalist and on the hunt for more with the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games not far away. Representing your country is something I enjoy immensely and will continue to do it as long as I can.

I have made the most of the opportunity and adventure that life has given me.
